Travel Time
It seems that September and October have been our travel time. What fun trips! We have combined dad's work meetings with fun sight seeing trips. I can't believe all the wonders that Heavenly Father has created for us to enjoy here on this beautiful earth.
In Virginia we loved visiting Col. Williamsburg again and of course a battlefield visit also, then to Charlottesville and Thomas Jefferson's Monticello Home. The Maymont Mansion was beautiful...very elegant with all the original furniture - some of it was one of a kind or as they said it was "priceless". Our visit to the Virginia White House and the beautiful State Capital in Richmond were amazing. There is so much history in that area. Oh and did I mention that dad received an award for 35 years of City Management Service?
Then it was on to Boston to see the F/B Family. It took a while for kido to get to know us as he loves his mommy so very much. What a cute little guy! We were glad that we visited the Walden Pond on the only good day there. Of course the Indian food that B got for us was amazing...at least I loved it.
Our next trip, October, was to Salem, OR, for meetings and another two awards for dad. Then it was off to Silverton and the falls with a stop at Mt. Angel and the fun German attractions there. But the highlights of the trip was at Mt. Rainier and our stay in the 1916 lodge where it snowed and a bear looked in the window while we were eating ...beautiful. Then it was up to Leavenworth to visit that German town. Your father did it up right with getting a suite where we could see a man blow his 25 foot horn.
Fun adventures for sure!
